Heart of Mallorca and its Crafts takes you away from the island’s busiest tourist areas and into the traditional villages of central Mallorca, close to the Serra de Tramuntana.
Travelling with your Amig@ in a small group of no more than eight people, you explore a side of the island closely connected to traditional trades, local customs and the craftspeople who continue to preserve them.
This Mallorca Crafts Tour introduces several very different skills.
One of them is artisan glassmaking. The programme includes Lafiore, where recycled glass is transformed by craftspeople into decorative creations.
Textiles provide another part of the experience. You visit a factory described in the client document as one of the oldest on the island, where you can learn about the production of traditional tela de llengües.
No name is given for this workshop in the source material, so none is added here.
These distinctive patterned fabrics are closely associated with Mallorcan craftsmanship and are still produced using traditional methods in workshops on the island.
Your route also introduces the art of traditional knife-making. The excursion includes a family-run cutlery workshop founded in 1890, where you have the opportunity to see how traditional island knives are made.
Olive oil also appears in the programme as another expression of local tradition. At the gateway to the Tramuntana, the experience highlights Mallorca’s olive-oil know-how and flavours.
The experience is also about the traditional villages of central Mallorca themselves. Travelling through preserved landscapes and small communities at the foot of the Tramuntana gives the excursion its distinctive atmosphere and connects the different crafts together.
Over four hours, Heart of Mallorca and its Crafts offers a different way to understand the island — through its villages, its people and the traditional skills that continue to form part of Mallorcan identity.
Your Amig@ takes you through small traditional villages in the centre of the island, at the foot of the Tramuntana.
This part of the experience introduces a quieter side of Mallorca, surrounded by preserved landscapes and away from the island’s busiest tourist areas.
Discover the world of artisan glassmaking at Lafiore.
The client’s programme describes a visit to this glassmaker, where recycled glass is transformed into handcrafted works.
The experience also introduces Mallorca’s traditional textile craft.
At a factory described as one of the oldest on the island, discover some of the secrets behind the production of tela de llengües, one of Mallorca’s characteristic traditional fabrics.
Another stage focuses on a family-run cutlery workshop founded in 1890.
See how traditional Mallorcan knives are made and discover another craft preserved on the island.
Olive oil completes this journey through local knowledge and traditions.
At the foot of the Tramuntana, the programme introduces the know-how and flavours associated with what the original experience calls Mallorca’s “gold”.
