Sa Bassa Rotja Ecoturisme: a historic finca in Mallorca countryside break

Set on the Son Orell estate near Porreres, Sa Bassa Rotja Ecoturisme is a 13th-century finca transformed into a charming rural hotel committed to ecotourism.

The estate stretches across 100 hectares of almond, olive and citrus trees, creating a peaceful setting for a stay combining nature and wellbeing.

Inside, wooden beams and stone arches reflect the history of the property. Its 38 individually decorated rooms and suites are spread between the main house and the annexes beside the swimming pool.

Complimentary spa access is included throughout your stay. Facilities include a heated indoor pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi. Outdoors, Sa Bassa Rotja also offers a large swimming pool, tennis courts, bicycles and a trail of more than 4 km winding through the estate.

Each morning, enjoy a buffet breakfast overlooking the garden.

Sa Bassa Rotja is an ideal base for combining peaceful countryside time with days exploring Palma, hiking and discovering Mallorca’s local food and wine.

Every package combines the peaceful setting and spa at Sa Bassa Rotja with carefully organised experiences. Stay longer and your programme gradually expands from Palma to nature and finally to Mallorca’s food and wine.

2-night package : Palma Through the Senses

Two nights of peace and wellbeing in the Mallorcan countryside, combined with a day in Palma filled with heritage, entertainment and local food.

Stay for 2 nights at Sa Bassa Rotja Ecoturisme on a bed and breakfast basis and enjoy complimentary access to the spa, including the heated indoor pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi.

Your hire car is included throughout your stay, with collection and return at Palma Airport.

Freedom Experience Palma Through the Senses

Spend a day discovering Mallorca’s capital at your own pace with an experience organised in advance by Evasion Authentic.

Begin at La Seu, Palma Cathedral, a Gothic masterpiece whose vast rose window fills the nave with light.

Continue with the “Elements” sound and light show, before ending the day with a picoteo at a carefully selected restaurant, where you can share a selection of Mallorcan flavours in true local style.

3-night package : Palma & Nature

Three nights combining the city with an immersion in some of Mallorca’s most beautiful landscapes.

This package includes everything in Palma Through the Senses, plus an additional night at Sa Bassa Rotja and a new experience: a half-day hike accompanied by your Amig@.

You still enjoy your day in Palma, complimentary spa access and your hire car throughout the entire stay.

Hiking Experience half-day with your Amig@

Lace up your walking shoes for around four hours of hiking on a route selected according to your interests and fitness level.

Three levels are available: easy, moderate or challenging.

Depending on the route, your Amig@ may lead you along trails in the Serra de Tramuntana, traditional dry-stone mule tracks, viewpoints overlooking the sea or the rolling hills of central Mallorca.

This is about more than walking. Along the way, your Amig@ shares stories and insights into the history and traditions of Mallorca, giving you a deeper connection with the landscapes around you.

The experience ends with a small snack shared with your Amig@, a chance to relax and continue the conversation after the walk.

4-night package : The Essence of Mallorca

Four nights combining wellbeing, heritage, nature and the flavours of Mallorca.

The most complete package includes all the previous experiences: Palma Through the Senses, your four-hour hike with an Amig@ and the relaxing surroundings of Sa Bassa Rotja.

An additional day is then dedicated to local wine and gastronomy.

Begin the day by wandering through a local market, browsing stalls filled with fruit, vegetables, cheeses and traditional products from the island.

Then head to Bodega Bordoy, a family-run winery in Llucmajor located near the neo-Gothic chapel of Sa Torre.

Among the vines, enjoy a picoteo of pa amb oli, sobrassada, cheeses and olives, paired with wines from the estate. You will also have the opportunity to discover local grape varieties including Callet, Premsal Blanc and Giró Ros.

In the evening, a traditional dinner rounds off this day dedicated to Mallorcan flavours.

What is included in the price of the break?

The price includes accommodation in a twin room, breakfasts, transfers between Palma Airport and the hotel, as well as the activities included in the package you have chosen. The exact details vary depending on the stay and whether you choose 2, 3 or 4 nights; all of this is set out in the details for each stay.

What is the difference between the 2-, 3- and 4-night packages?

The length of your stay and the number of activities vary depending on the package. The longer you stay, the more comprehensive the programme is and the more aspects of Mallorca you can discover.

2 nights: accommodation + 1 activity
3 nights: accommodation + 2 activities
4 nights: accommodation + 3 activities

The activities on offer depend on the hotel and the region where you are staying.

Are flights to Mallorca included in the price?

No. You are responsible for the cost of flights to Palma de Mallorca, so you are free to choose your departure city, flight times and the airline that suits you best. Once in Palma, the transfers included in your stay will take care of the rest.

Are airport transfers included?

Yes. If car hire is not included in your holiday package, transfers between Palma Airport and your hotel, on both arrival and departure, are included. This means you can start enjoying your break as soon as you arrive, without having to organise your own transport to your accommodation.

Is a hire car included with all stays?

No. El coche de alquiler solo está incluido en los viajes en los que se mencione explícitamente en el programa y en la sección «Qué incluye».

For these holidays, the vehicle is collected on arrival in Mallorca and returned at the end of your stay. A shuttle bus from Palma Airport takes you to the hire company’s offices in Son Oms, about 5 minutes from the airport. The driver must be at least 21 years old and have held a valid driving licence for at least 2 years. Basic insurance is included in the booking.

For holidays without a hire car, Évasion Authentic organises transfers between the airport and the hotel, as well as the necessary pick-ups for the activities included in your package.

In any case, details of the transport included are clearly set out on each holiday description page.

How does the car hire included in the holiday work? (only available on certain holidays)

You will collect your hire car on arrival in Mallorca and return it at the end of your stay. A free shuttle bus from Palma Airport will take you to the hire company’s offices in Son Oms, about 5 minutes from the airport.

The driver must be at least 21 years old and have held a valid driving licence for at least two years. Basic insurance is included in the booking. Additional ‘Keep Calm Pack’ cover, costing €5 per day, can be added; this is compulsory if paying by debit card.

Children’s equipment can also be added at an extra cost: a baby seat or booster seat for €8 per day.

Please note: for pick-ups between 11.00 pm and 6.00 am, a surcharge of €44 is payable on arrival.

You will be sent all the practical information you need to collect and return your vehicle before you arrive.

Can I choose the dates of my stay freely?

Today we were made to feel very welcome , with the French tour guide Edwidge. She totally embraced translating everything important to us with the greatest kindness and patience. We were picked up on time and went for an adventure for two hours to the most beautiful gardens of Alfabia , as Edwidge  guided us through the path of flowers, nice views, olive orchards and ponds before ending up in a cafe and then guided through the main house and outer buildings. We were then driven further up In the mountains to Fornalutx for a walk around the village prior to lunch, all pre- ordered and well organised by Edwidge. She then drove us down to the train at Soller where she took us to see the Prurana House of Art Nuevo & the Picasso art exhibition at the station. She made sure we all got a train ticket and kindly made sure we could all sit together on the train , while she got off to meet us at the end station. We booked 3 excursions through voyage prive, 2 were guided by Guillaume. Guillaume was a biologist and his love and passion of Mallorca really shone through. Throughout the excursions, he educated us with facts about local plants, animals and foods. We were the only British on both excursions and he made us feel fully included and involved translating every piece of information spoken alongside his very witty humour. We have learnt so much about Mallorca and have fallen in love with its history, food and landscape as a result of Guillaume. If there was an extra hour spare he would ensure it was filled with his recommendations, even taking us to the top of a mountain to see a panoramic view of the whole island, just because we had an hour spare. We Thank you!!! The level of knowledge and detail, the variety of places travelled to and the length of the day surpassed all expectations. Our guide, Chris, was wonderfully accommodating and helpful, our group intimate, the lunch traditional and delicious, the scenery stunning. Wish we had more time on the island to take additional tours with this group. We absolutely loved it!
